- What size is a US passport photo?
- 2x2 inches. Digital photos must be square, between 600x600 and 1200x1200 pixels. This tool exports 1200x1200, which also prints cleanly at 2x2 inches.
- How big should my head be in the photo?
- Your head, from chin to top of hair, must fill 50–69% of the photo height. The tool sizes it to 60% by default; adjust the head size slider if needed.
- Does the background have to be white?
- It must be plain white or off-white. Keep the background toggle on to replace your background with white automatically.
- What if my photo is cropped too tightly?
- The tool keeps the correct framing and fills any missing area with white instead of shrinking or shifting your head.
- Can I wear glasses or a hat?
- No. Glasses and hats aren't allowed in US passport photos, except hats worn daily for religious reasons with a signed statement.
- What file formats can I export?
- You can export as PNG, JPEG, WebP, TIFF, BMP, or HEIC.
